Fatigue in ITP: is poor fitness the hidden culprit?

NCT ID NCT07310342

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether young people (ages 8–25) with chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) have lower aerobic fitness than healthy peers. Fatigue is a major problem for many with ITP, and the researchers want to see if it's linked to a 'vicious cycle' of being less active. About 53 participants will do a treadmill or bike test to measure their peak oxygen use. No treatment is given; the goal is to understand the problem better.
