New CT scanner could spot hidden heart attack risks
NCT ID NCT07536607
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study will test a new type of CT scanner (photon counting CT) to see if it can give clearer pictures of fatty or calcified plaques in heart arteries. Researchers want to know if these detailed images can help predict who might have a heart attack, stroke, or need a procedure in the short or long term. The study will enroll 180 adults with known or suspected coronary artery disease and follow them over time.
