First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-phase study tested a treatment for people with advanced lung cancer that blocks the airways. Doctors injected a light-sensitive drug into the blood, then used a laser to activate it inside the tumor, aiming to shrink it and relieve symptoms. The study included 19 adults with lung cancer that had spread locally. The main goals were to check safety and see if the tumor shrank.
