First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a low-level near-infrared LED light device to safely relieve itch without breaking the skin or causing heat. Researchers will enroll 20 adults with acute or chronic itch to see if the light reduces itch intensity by at least 2 points on a 0-10 scale. The goal is to find a new, non-invasive way to manage itch.
