Scientists test how aging bodies handle a common food mineral

NCT ID NCT07149337

Summary

This study aims to understand if the body's response to phosphate—a mineral common in many foods—changes as people age and differs between men and women. Researchers will give a phosphate drink to 40 healthy volunteers from two age groups (young adults and older adults) and measure levels in their blood and urine over ten hours. The goal is to gather basic knowledge about mineral metabolism, which may inform future research on kidney health and aging.
