Patients call in, doctors listen: can phone messages improve mental health care?
NCT ID NCT01749124
Summary
This small pilot study tested a new phone system called 'My Coach Connect' to see if it could help communication between patients and their mental health providers. Patients with conditions like depression or schizophrenia called in twice a week for four months to leave voice messages about how they were doing. Researchers wanted to learn if giving providers access to these messages helped them understand their patients better and improved the overall care experience.
