New phone therapy aims to lift spirits of older cancer patients

Summary

This study is testing whether a new 5-session phone therapy program called CARE can better help older adults with cancer who are feeling depressed or distressed. Researchers will compare CARE against standard supportive phone counseling to see which is more effective. The study is recruiting 459 participants aged 70+ who have cancer and are experiencing emotional distress.
