New shot tested to ease pressure on failing livers

Summary
This is a first-in-human study to test the safety and dosing of a new drug called PHIN-214 in adults with liver cirrhosis. The drug is given as a shot under the skin and is designed to reduce high blood pressure in the liver's portal vein, which may help improve kidney function. The study will first test a single dose, then test daily doses for 28 days to find the safest and most effective amount.
