Hemophilia patients may face hidden bone loss risk

NCT ID NCT04384341

First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether people with hemophilia (a bleeding disorder) are more likely to have weak bones (osteoporosis) compared to healthy people. Researchers measured bone density in 448 men aged 20 to 60, including those with hemophilia and healthy volunteers. The goal was to understand if the clotting factor deficiency itself, not just lifestyle factors, contributes to bone loss.
