New device aims to seal brain blood vessel leaks in kids

NCT ID NCT03731000

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how well the PHIL Embolic System works to treat a rare brain condition in children called dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs), where blood vessels connect abnormally. About 15 children under 22 will receive the treatment, which uses a special material to block the faulty vessels. The goal is to see if it is safe and effective at stopping the abnormal blood flow.
