Pharmacists step in to protect kidneys where doctors are scarce
NCT ID NCT07169422
Summary
This study is testing a new program where specially trained community pharmacists can prescribe medications to help slow kidney damage in people with type 2 diabetes. It focuses on adults who do not have a regular family doctor. Researchers will compare health outcomes for 120 people who receive care from a pharmacist using new step-by-step guides versus those who get usual care from walk-in or virtual clinics.
