Pharmacists step in to fight dangerous drug side effects

Summary

This study tests whether having pharmacists provide education and monitoring can help control weight gain and other metabolic side effects caused by newer antipsychotic medications. It will involve 148 adults in Pakistan who are starting these medications for conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Participants will either receive standard care or standard care plus regular check-ins with a pharmacist focused on lifestyle and medication guidance over 12 weeks.
