Heart hole patch battle: new device takes on standard for stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT07380490

Summary

This study compares two small devices used to close a common heart hole called a PFO. The goal is to see if a newer device (Cocoon) works as well as a standard one (Amplatzer) to prevent another stroke or mini-stroke in adults who have already had one. About 1,260 participants across Europe will be randomly assigned to receive one of the devices, and their health will be tracked for a year.
