Advanced scan trial aims to outsmart cancer, extend lives

NCT ID NCT06877949

Summary

This study is testing if a more detailed type of scan (FDG-PET/CT) is better than standard CT scans for monitoring metastatic breast cancer. The goal is to see if the detailed scan can spot when the cancer is getting worse sooner, allowing doctors to change treatments earlier and potentially help patients live longer. The trial will involve 420 patients across Europe who are starting their first treatment for metastatic breast cancer.
