Scanning for clues: can a simple test predict a Cancer's future?

NCT ID NCT01996046

Summary

This study is testing whether special PET scans can predict how well hormone therapy will work for breast cancer that has spread to the bones. Researchers will scan 75 patients before treatment and again at 4 and 12 weeks after starting new therapy. They will compare the scan results to long-term outcomes like how long the cancer stays controlled and patient survival to see if early scan changes are a useful sign.
