New scan could tell doctors if cancer drugs will work
NCT ID NCT03321045
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing a new type of PET scan to see if it can predict which patients with a specific type of breast cancer (HER2-positive) will respond well to targeted therapy drugs. Researchers will give participants a special imaging tracer and use a combined PET/MRI scan to see how much of it is taken up by the tumor. The goal is to see if this scan can help doctors choose the most effective treatment for each patient right from the start.
