Mid-Treatment scan could help doctors adjust cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT03403465

Summary

This study is testing if a special PET scan taken partway through radiation treatment can help doctors see how the cancer is responding. If the scan shows the tumor is shrinking, doctors could adjust the remaining radiation to better target the cancer and potentially spare more healthy tissue. The trial includes 90 adults with cervical, vulvar, esophageal, or anal canal cancer.
