New PET/MRI scan could replace biopsies for breast cancer receptor testing
NCT ID NCT03212170
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special PET/MRI scan using a tracer called FFNP can accurately measure progesterone receptor levels in invasive breast cancer. 21 women with breast cancer participated. The goal was to see if the scan could match the results of a standard biopsy test, potentially offering a less invasive way to assess hormone receptor status.
