New scan could tell doctors if cancer treatment is working sooner

NCT ID NCT04359732

Summary

This study is testing whether a special type of scan called PET/MRI can predict how well a patient's esophageal cancer will respond to chemotherapy and radiation given before surgery. Researchers will follow 121 patients with esophageal cancer, using these scans before, during, and after their pre-surgery treatment. The goal is to see if the scans can accurately identify which patients are responding well to the treatment, which could help doctors make better decisions about patient care.
