New scan could sharpen cervical cancer staging

NCT ID NCT04219904

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a combined PET/MRI scan can more accurately show how deep cervical cancer has grown and whether it has spread to lymph nodes. About 25 people with early-stage cervical cancer that can be removed by surgery will get the scan before their operation. The goal is to see if the scan matches what doctors find during surgery, which could help guide treatment decisions in the future.
