New scan aims to predict stroke risk from artery plaque

Summary
This study is testing a new type of combined PET/MR scan to see if it can better identify which carotid artery plaques are unstable and likely to cause a stroke. It will enroll 100 people who have been diagnosed with carotid plaque. The goal is to see if this scan can provide clearer information to help doctors prevent strokes before they happen.
