First-in-Human imaging test could spot dangerous aneurysms early

NCT ID NCT07473102

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests a new radioactive tracer called [64Cu]-RYM2 in PET/CT scans to see if it can safely detect enzyme activity (MMP) in abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). Researchers will compare scans from 28 healthy volunteers and AAA patients scheduled for surgery. The goal is to understand how the tracer behaves in the body and whether it can help identify aneurysm inflammation, which may lead to better monitoring and treatment decisions.
