NCT ID NCT07159568
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether it is possible and safe for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) to have visits from their own pet dogs. The researchers will try this with 21 adult patients who own a dog and are expected to stay in the ICU for at least two days. The goal is to see if the visit can happen smoothly and without causing harm, as a first step toward understanding if pet visits can help improve patient well-being in the ICU.
