Simple ring could be key to stopping premature births in twins

NCT ID NCT02328989

Summary

This study tested whether a small, flexible ring placed in the vagina (called a pessary) could help prevent premature birth in twin pregnancies where the mother's cervix is found to be short. It involved 324 women in France with twin pregnancies. The goal was to see if using the pessary was better than standard monitoring alone at preventing very early births and the serious health problems they can cause for babies.
