Lab-grown tumor avatars could pick the right drug for breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06459791

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a personalized lab test, called a tumorogram, can help choose the best treatment for people with metastatic breast cancer. Researchers take a small sample of the tumor and grow it in the lab to create a 'tumor avatar.' They then test different drugs on this avatar to see which ones work best. The goal is to see if patients who get a treatment recommended by this test have a better response within 6 months. The study involves 110 adults with advanced breast cancer.
