Simple urine test could revolutionize TB treatment in High-Risk areas
NCT ID NCT06318416
Summary
This study aims to improve tuberculosis treatment by personalizing drug doses. Researchers will use a simple urine test to check if patients are getting enough of a key TB drug (rifampin) and adjust their dose if needed. The trial involves 200 adults and children in Tanzania who are starting standard TB treatment, to see if this personalized approach helps the medicine work better and reduces the risk of treatment failure.
