First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach called Personalized Safety Plans (PSP) for veterans hospitalized due to suicide risk. After leaving the hospital, veterans often face a very high-risk period. PSP is a single session to create a custom safety plan, followed by brief coaching calls twice a month for three months. The goal is to see if this personalized plan reduces suicidal thoughts and helps veterans cope better compared to standard safety planning.
