Tailored brain zaps may boost arm recovery in stroke patients

NCT ID NCT06270238

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether personalized brain stimulation (rTMS) can improve arm movement in people who had a stroke within the past 3 months. Researchers will tailor the treatment based on each patient's remaining brain function, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. About 120 hospitalized adults with limited arm use will be enrolled. The goal is to see if this customized method works better than standard low-frequency stimulation.
