Tailored radiation boosts lung cancer control in new trial

This study tested a personalized approach to radiation therapy for people with stage III lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. During standard chemo-radiation, doctors used PET scans to see which parts of the tumor were still active and gave those areas a higher radiation dose. The goal was to improve tumor control without increasing side effects. The trial involved 158 participants and focused on whether this method could reduce cancer regrowth in the chest.
