Study aims to spare men unnecessary prostate cancer treatment side effects

NCT ID NCT07313241

Summary

This study is testing a new, personalized plan for radiation therapy in men whose prostate cancer shows signs of returning after surgery. Instead of giving everyone the same intensive treatment, doctors will first give a shorter course of radiation to the prostate area. Based on how a patient's PSA level responds after 5 weeks, doctors will decide if more treatment is needed. The goal is to control the cancer while reducing unnecessary side effects for those who respond well to the initial treatment.
