Can a quick chat with a pharmacist curb opioid overuse?
NCT ID NCT05196386
Summary
This study tested if a personalized plan created during a pharmacist interview could help control how long patients take strong opioid painkillers for non-cancer pain. It involved 100 adults hospitalized for musculoskeletal pain who were starting this type of medication. The goal was to see if this plan could prevent treatment from lasting longer than the recommended 28 days and reduce the risk of dependency.
