Lab-Grown 'Mini-Tumors' could guide cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT06064682
Summary
This study aims to see if growing a patient's osteosarcoma tumor cells in a lab dish can help doctors predict which chemotherapy drugs will work best for that specific person. Researchers will create tiny 3D models called 'organoids' from tumor samples taken during a patient's routine biopsy or surgery. They will then test different chemotherapy drugs on these mini-tumors to see which ones are most effective, with the goal of providing more personalized treatment recommendations.
