Mapping the Heart's electrical scars to stop AFib for good

NCT ID NCT07047235

Summary

This study aims to improve a common heart procedure called catheter ablation for people with persistent atrial fibrillation (AFib). Researchers will create detailed 3D maps of the heart's electrical activity and scar tissue during the procedure to better understand why AFib returns in about half of patients. The goal is to use these maps to guide a more personalized ablation strategy, potentially reducing the need for repeat procedures and improving long-term results.
