Your Omega-3 level may need a custom dose: new pilot study
NCT ID NCT07480707
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests whether giving people personalized doses of fish oil, based on their current omega-3 levels, can help them reach a target level of 8% in 90 days. 48 adults with low omega-3 levels will take between 1 and 4 capsules daily depending on their starting index. The goal is to see if tailored dosing works better than a one-size-fits-all approach.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Omega-3 fish oil (Parasol brand)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that personalized dosing helps people efficiently reach target omega-3 levels, potentially improving heart and brain health.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 48 people and no control group. Results may not apply broadly, and the effect on actual health outcomes is not measured.
