First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests two plant oils, echium and ahiflower, as sustainable alternatives to fish oil for omega-3 supplements. Fifteen adults will take each oil and a fish oil capsule for 8 weeks, with blood tests to compare omega-3 levels. The goal is to see if these plant oils can boost heart-healthy EPA and DHA as effectively as marine sources.
