Your genes could guide your surgery pain meds
NCT ID NCT03729180
Summary
This study is testing whether giving doctors genetic information about patients helps them choose safer and more effective pain medications during and after surgery. Researchers are enrolling 1900 adults having elective surgery at the University of Chicago. They will compare outcomes between patients whose doctors receive this genetic guidance and those who receive standard care without it.
