Tailored 'Hot Chemo' tested for Tough-to-Treat abdominal cancers
NCT ID NCT07291180
Summary
This study is testing a new method to personalize a treatment called heated abdominal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for people with advanced appendix or colorectal cancer that has spread within the abdomen. Doctors will first test a small sample of a patient's tumor in a lab to see which chemotherapy drugs it responds to best. They will then use that information to choose and deliver a personalized, heated chemotherapy wash directly into the abdomen, aiming to better control the cancer.
