Lab-Grown 'Tumor Avatars' guide next chemo choice in groundbreaking trial

NCT ID NCT06459791

Summary

This study is testing a personalized method to help choose the next chemotherapy for patients with advanced breast cancer. Doctors take a small sample of a patient's tumor and grow it in the lab to create a 'tumor avatar.' They test different chemotherapy drugs on this avatar to predict which one the patient's real tumor might respond to best. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better treatment outcomes than the standard method of choosing therapy.
