Summary

This study tested if adding the drug bezlotoxumab to standard care could prevent severe outcomes in patients with a dangerous C. difficile gut infection. It focused on 44 patients identified as high-risk using a special score based on their genes, blood tests, and gut bacteria. The goal was to see if this personalized approach could reduce organ failure, relapse, or death within 40 days.
