Summary
This study tested whether personalizing the location of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) based on an individual's brain network could improve its effects on depression. Fifty adults with major depression received a single session of TMS targeted to their central executive network, standard scalp location, or a sham (fake) treatment. The goal was to measure brain changes, not to treat depression directly, and results will inform a future clinical trial.
