First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a second type of dialysis (peritoneal dialysis) between regular hemodialysis sessions can safely remove extra sodium and fluid from the body. Ten adults with end-stage kidney disease who struggle with fluid buildup will receive this extra treatment twice a week for three weeks. The goal is to see if it improves fluid balance and reduces strain on the heart.
