Finger sensor may predict anesthesia danger

NCT ID NCT07279805

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a simple finger sensor, called a peripheral perfusion index, can predict a dangerous drop in blood pressure after spinal anesthesia. Researchers studied 40 adults having leg surgery. They measured the sensor reading before anesthesia to see if it could forecast who would have low blood pressure.
