First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study will check if easy-to-measure signs of blood flow, like how fast color returns after pressing the skin, are linked to outcomes in 80 ICU patients with sepsis. Researchers will collect routine data and blood tests during the first day. No extra treatments or procedures are involved.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors use simple bedside checks to predict recovery in sepsis patients.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to all sepsis patients. It does not test any treatment.
