Short Pre-Surgery exercise test may spot hidden heart damage
NCT ID NCT06474754
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if a brief, low-intensity exercise test before noncardiac surgery could help doctors detect heart injury after surgery better than standard care. Ten adults aged 45 and older took the test, then had surgery, and their heart health was monitored for three days. The goal was to find a link between exercise performance and heart injury, which could guide future treatments to reduce risk.
