First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether a short-acting beta-blocker called landiolol can keep heart rate below 90 beats per minute during and after major surgery in people with heart risks. About 114 adults aged 45 and older with at least two risk factors (like high blood pressure or heart disease) will take part. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and might reduce heart injury after surgery.
