NCT ID NCT07450573

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at how comprehensive gum treatment affects chewing ability and quality of life in people with severe gum disease (Stage III periodontitis). Twenty patients with gum disease and twenty healthy people took part. Patients received deep cleaning and, if needed, gum surgery. After treatment, gum health, chewing performance, and self-reported quality of life all improved significantly. The findings suggest that treating advanced gum disease not only helps gums heal but also makes eating easier and improves how people feel about their oral health.
