New ultrasound technique spots tiny brain vessels
NCT ID NCT05785598
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new ultrasound technique called ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) to see very small arteries in the brain. 24 people with ischemic stroke or Moya Moya disease took part. The goal was to see if ULM could find more of these tiny arteries than standard methods like MRI. The approach uses regular ultrasound images and a contrast agent, then processes the data to create a clearer picture.
