First human trial shows new magnetic field treatment safe for breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06332508

Summary

This first-in-human study tested the safety of a new treatment called pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) in breast cancer patients. Fourteen patients received a 30-minute PEMF session alongside their standard chemotherapy or before surgery. The main goal was to check for side effects, and the treatment was found to be safe and well-tolerated, allowing researchers to plan the next study to see if it helps fight cancer.
