Summary

This pilot study tested whether giving a combination of immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) and chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with rare types of muscle-invasive bladder cancer. The study enrolled 17 participants with stage II or IIIA bladder cancer that had unusual cell types. The main goal was to see if the treatment could make the cancer disappear completely by the time of surgery.
