Can a cold virus help fight myeloma? new combo trial launches
NCT ID NCT05514990
First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether adding a lab-modified reovirus (pelareorep) to a standard drug combination (bortezomib, dexamethasone, and pembrolizumab) can safely improve outcomes for people with multiple myeloma that has relapsed or become resistant. About 10 participants who have already tried at least three prior treatments will receive the therapy. The main goals are to check safety and see how many patients respond, but this is not a cure — it aims to control the disease.
